OIL

Shin-Etsu Silicone Oil is typically a colorless and transparent liquid, ranging from water-like to syrupy consistencies. It comes in various types, exhibiting excellent properties such as heat resistance, cold resistance, electrical characteristics, water resistance, and chemical resistance. Additionally, it possesses characteristics like non-volatility, water repellency, and dispersibility, which are not commonly found in natural or synthetic oils.

As a result, it finds applications across a wide range of industries, including electronics, transportation, chemicals, office equipment, and textiles.

Features

- Heat Resistance
Silicone oil exhibits excellent heat oxidative stability.

- Cold Resistance
Silicone oil has outstanding cold resistance, with KF-96 remaining fluid even at -50°C. Particularly, methyl phenyl silicone oil designed for cold resistance maintains fluidity at -65°C.

- Viscosity Stability
Silicone oil is ideal for applications requiring viscosity stability across a wide temperature range, as it experiences minimal viscosity changes from low to high temperatures.

- Chemical Inertness
Due to its chemical inertness, silicone oil is minimally affected by solutions with up to 10% alkaline or 30% acidic concentrations at room temperature.

- Corrosiveness and Impact on Other Materials
Silicone oil has minimal adverse effects on various materials, including metals.

- Surface Tension
Silicone oil has lower surface tension compared to water or conventional synthetic oils.
